About

Fashion is for all – so it should be practical, usable and desirable. With this thought in mind, Sayuri was born in August 2008 to provide Jewelry, Apparel and gift options that will celebrate the customer’s personality. From 2010 onwards, the brand micro focus is on creating Jewelry and accessories.
“Sayuri” in Japanese means a small lily and it is a metaphor for the birth of happiness after a strong bout of rain. The Sayuri ™ range of Jewelry are all Handcrafted with a wide range of materials that make them unique one-off pieces with no repetitions. Apart from the core beaded jewelry line, there are themed collections and innovations every season. The Brand believes in providing contemporary and fashionable pieces by incorporating recycling, reusing and reinventing. Regular classes and workshops are conducted to help interested people learn and understand Jewelry design and creation techniques. The entire business is based on the concept of sustainable design through focus and innovation.

Sayuri ™ was founded and is run by Divya N, a design graduate from NIFT who believes in fusing available traditional knowledge and skills with modern ideas and cutting edge technology to create contemporary products. Having trained under designers like Helen Britton, her design sensibility is quirky with an Indian touch. She is a certified Kalamkari artist, takes genuine interest in all Indian arts and crafts and is actively involved in design intervention workshops for local artisans. Divya has been teaching for the last three years across Chennai, in various Fashion and design institutes. She is an avid blogger, a trend researcher and contributes regularly to fashion columns.
